Before you burn

These logs may need further drying before you burn them. Stack them off the ground under a roof, with the sides open so air can move through, and burn them once the moisture content is below 20%. A cheap moisture meter will tell you when they are ready. Burning wet wood gives less heat, more smoke and more tar in your flue.
