Yes. Quotes and site visits are always free across Dorset, Hampshire and the South West, with no obligation. Commercial tender pricing is free too.

We quote fairly the first time rather than playing pricing games. If another quote is significantly cheaper, check it includes insurance, NPTC-certified operators, waste disposal and TPO checks. That's usually where the difference hides.

Usually within one working day of the visit or photos. Quotes arrive by email with a link to view and accept online.

Fully insured: £10m public liability, with certificates available on request. We also carry employer's liability cover and are registered waste carriers.

All our arborists are NPTC/LANTRA certified for the work they carry out, covering climbing, chainsaw operations, MEWP use and rigging. We work to BS 3998, the British Standard for tree work.

Yes. RAMS are issued before work starts on every commercial job, and site-specific risk assessments, emergency plans and toolbox talks are part of how every Heartwood crew works.

Yes. DBS-checked teams are available for education settings, and we're used to inductions, permits and working around term times and site rules.

If the tree has a Tree Preservation Order or stands in a conservation area, yes. Much of Wareham, Swanage and Dorset's town centres are conservation areas. We check the council's records for every quote and handle any application for you, free within our quotes.

Wild birds and their nests are legally protected, so we plan work around the March to August nesting season. Where work can't wait, we check thoroughly for nests first and stop if one is found.

Arisings are chipped and removed, processed into our Ready to Burn firewood and mulch, or left with you if you'd like them. We're registered waste carriers and provide waste transfer documentation on commercial work.

You're generally entitled to cut back overhanging branches to your boundary (offering the arisings back), but not to enter their land, and TPO/conservation area rules still apply. We're happy to advise on the specifics and carry out the work properly. It's often worth a friendly word with the neighbour first, and we regularly work for both parties on a shared quote.

Yes. It's a core part of our business. We run cyclical tree maintenance, inspection programmes and grounds contracts for developers, councils, schools, holiday parks, estates and facilities managers, with agreed schedules, fixed rates and priority emergency response.

Yes. Much of our heathland and conservation work is on designated Purbeck sites, delivered under the landowner's assent with the seasonal constraints and reporting that entails.

For machine-only hire you need a current IPAF licence (category 1b) and a refundable security deposit. No licence? Book it with our certified operator instead and you just direct the work. Both options book online with live availability.

Yes, across Dorset and the surrounding counties for a delivery-and-collection charge, or you can collect from our Wareham yard.

Yes. Kiln dried below 20% moisture and certified under the Government's Ready to Burn scheme, checked with calibrated meters before it leaves the yard. It's a by-product of our own tree work, so it's local and traceable.

Early autumn. Kiln capacity gets booked out as the cold arrives, and standing-order customers get first call on loads. You can reserve a winter standing order through the firewood page or by phone.
