HeartwoodTree Management Ltd

Ecological & Environmental Land Management

Land management that delivers for ecology, compliance and the landscape.

Modern development and land ownership come with real environmental obligations: Biodiversity Net Gain, mitigation planting, habitat management plans, invasive species duties. Heartwood delivers the practical works behind those obligations: creating habitat, controlling invasives, managing woodland and meadow, and documenting all of it.

We sit between the ecologist's report and the finished landscape, as a contractor that understands both the paperwork and the chainsaw.

What we do

  • Biodiversity Net Gain habitat creation and 30-year management delivery
  • Woodland creation, management and coppicing
  • Wildflower meadow establishment and cyclical management
  • Invasive species control: Japanese knotweed, Himalayan balsam, rhododendron
  • Pond and wetland creation
  • Ecological mitigation works: hibernacula, bat and bird boxes, habitat piles

Biodiversity Net Gain delivery

BNG makes habitat creation and decades-long management a planning requirement. We deliver the on-the-ground works for on-site and off-site BNG: establishing the habitats in the approved plan, then managing them against the habitat management and monitoring plan, with records that stand up to local authority scrutiny.
