Kiln Dried Oak is generally considered one of the very best logs and much sought after. It burns fairly slowly with nice flames and produces excellent heat even when only embers are left. It is categorised as a heavy hard wood with a deep ridged dark brown bark and rougher to the touch. Per ton of kiln dried oak it produces over 5500 kwh of energy
At Heartwood, we take pride in providing the best firewood for our customers. We use the latest biomass boiler technology to dry our logs to less than 20% moisture content in our kiln. The result? Kiln dried logs that burn hotter than traditionally seasoned firewood and are easier to light.
